Instructions & Youth Golf
Ryan Rothman: Director of Instruction
With over 15 years of industry experience, I have taught thousands of lessons to players ranging in skill level from complete beginners to mini tour players. I have had the opportunity to work under coaches of PGA Tour players Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer, Graeme McDowell and LPGA Tour player Stacy Lewis.
My goals, as a coach, is to help you set and reach attainable goals for your game. Once realistic goals are set we can lay out a road map to help you get to these goals. Using video analysis, you will see your swing side-by-side to the best players in the world. This will give you a visual reference of different positions throughout the swing.
We will also use radar analysis to study your ball flight and impact conditions. By looking at impact conditions and ball flight we can reverse diagnose your swing. How the ball flies is the end result of your swing and can give us great insight into how the club strikes the ball at impact.
As the premier family club in West Michigan we aim to offer junior programs to all ages and skill levels. Whether your child is just starting to get interested in golf or has been playing and wants to pursue the game more, there is something for them.
For those just starting out, Tuesday Jr. golf is a great way to introduce them to the game. Start out the morning with a group clinic on the basic fundamentals of golf. Then take everything you’ve learned and put it to the test on the course with your friends in a group format.
For those that are interested in the world of competitive golf, Arnie’s Army offers more in-depth instruction. Arnie’s Army is for those that want to take their game to the next level and focus on playing in tournaments and scoring. The instruction is more detailed and is for those that have a good grasp on the fundamentals.
PGA Jr. League is a great way for your child to put there skills up against kids from different clubs around Grand Rapids. With normal tournament golf, there is a lot of pressure and every shot counts for something. PGA Jr. League’s 2-person scramble format offers the kids a fun and stress-free way to play competitive golf with their friends and play other courses around the city.
